Baiyun District construction will continue around Baiyun International Airport

This year, there are 186 key construction projects in Guangzhou, with planned investment of more than 100 billion yuan, of which 33 projects led by Baiyun District and Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone are involved in aviation hubs, aviation industry, urban rail transit, urban ecological civilization construction and other fields, and 20 projects will be completed next year. In the past year, more than 70 domestic and foreign aviation industry enterprises frequently contacted Guangzhou Airport Commission, hoping to share the economic development dividends of Guangzhou airport, they will also bring the world's best construction experience and innovative ideas for Guangzhou to build an international aviation hub, and invest "real money" to open new routes.
Baiyun District and Huadu District, where Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone is located, have also made corresponding industrial docking. Among them, the plenary session of the Baiyun District Committee has made the development orientation of "innovative livable airport area" for docking the airport economic zone. In the future, Baiyun District will build an international aviation center headquarters gathering area, an international logistics center innovation and development area, an international business center transformation and upgrading area and a regional science and technology innovation system.
At the beginning of 2015, the third runway was put into operation, and Baiyun International Airport opened the acceleration mode. According to the plan, 3.39 billion yuan will be invested in the expansion project of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport this year for the construction of Terminal 2 and its corresponding supporting works. When the expansion project is completed in 2018, Baiyun Airport is expected to handle 80 million passengers, up from 55.21 million last year.
The immaturity of business aviation service is an obvious shortcoming of Guangzhou Airport and Baiyun Airport in promoting the business environment and enhancing the internationalization level.
Business aviation service functions have become an important part of aviation hubs. At present, the world's large international aviation hubs, such as Amsterdam and Hong Kong airports, are equipped with business aviation fixed operation bases (Fbos), and Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Zhuhai airports have already established business aviation service bases.
The establishment of a fixed business aviation operation base in Baiyun Airport will provide first-class facilities and all-round services for domestic and foreign business aircraft, which will be a beneficial supplement for Baiyun Airport to enhance its function as an international aviation hub. According to the plan, the base will build business aviation service buildings and hangars of 20,000 square meters, and apron of 78,000 square meters.
Combining the advantages of airport location, logistics industry and bonded zone policy, the e-commerce industry of airport economic zone and Baiyun District, especially cross-border e-commerce business, has exploded in recent years. It can also be seen from the plan, Guangzhou Airport cross-border e-commerce pilot park, Taian Tang Kang Aido pharmaceutical e-commerce center, as well as the headquarters project of two well-known companies, Han After cosmetics and Guerlain Beauty cosmetics, will break ground in Baiyun District this year, involving a total investment of 5.1 billion yuan.
